SID LORRAINE'S CHATTER
oooooooooooooooooooooooouoooooo
Hats off to Greg Bordner and the Abbott staff for the smooth running Get-together this year. What a grand event it turned out to be for all. The shows and lectures were great as were the outdoor activities. The FIFTIETH will long be remembered!
It was great to see David Peck of Toronto win top honors in the Senior contest. His appearance on the Saturday night show was an event he never expected and he was genuinely thrilled.
The judges were extremely kind, presenting the Crandall comedy award for my part in this year's offering. I am greatly honored and certainly appreciative. Thanks to the many who showered me with congratulations and many follow-up letters.
What with my picture on the
large display card and the
involvement of my name among
dishes on the Magic City Cafe's
menu, I spent so much time
signing my name, I could almost
read it, at the finish ...
and I loved every minute of
it. Thanks, thanks, and thanks
again!

In the dealer showroom the Abbott workers were constantly busy as were Bob Little, David Cresey, Jimmy Yoshida, Fukai & Kimika and Chazpro's Chuck Leach. The wide range of material available to magicians
was certainly on display and readily purchased.
In spite of a series of serious bouts with surgery, Verne Bloch was on hand. He and his charming wife Fran even managed to do their annual coverage of Michigan yard sales. It seemed as though I had just said goodbye to Bill and Irene Larsen in Las Vegas when, there they were again, in the American Legion enjoying every minute of Colon's night life. Little Johnny Jones, Karl Norman and so many old friends laughingly pushed, shoved and juggled glasses, as wizards with cards, ropes, coins and things did their chicanery capers at the limited table spots. As you tried to wriggle through the room you'd bump into Harry and Gay Blackstone, Terry Seabrooke, George Johnstone, Gene Anderson, Jay Marshall, well, almost every magic name you've heard about. The memory of it all has one eagerly looking forward to next August (August 10, 11, 12 & 13, 1988). I hope I'11 see YOU there!

British wizards should be on the lookout for Toronto's David Ben who will be spending the next couple of years in their midst. He is a bright, talented and creative close up worker and an experienced worker in the club and restaurant field, as well as a most capable lecturer for a magic club.
